Just recently this month a new airline called Pet Airways started operating in the Northeast. The airline is run by CEO Dan Wiesel using Beech B-1900 turbo-prop aircraft. The airline model is to provide greater comfort to animals. Most people may not realize, but pets can get anxiety too. Mainly, they get anxiety from separation from their owners. But sometimes they get anxiety from a strange new environment.
So it comes in handy to have an attendant on the airplane to sooth animals anxiety & emotion. Right now the airline is only taking dogs, & cats, but in the future they may take additional animals. Currently, the only service is to Baltimore, Chicago, Denver, & LA. It would be interesting to see the success of this model.
