Afraid to go to the airport


I sometimes get some clients with such a severe case of fear of flying that they can't even get themselves to go to the airport. I know this is a difficult challenge. But the best thing I can suggest is to try a dry rehearsal several weeks prior to your flight to help you ease anxiety. Try packing some clothes in your travel bag & take a drive to the airport. Try this at least twice prior to your flight. On the actual day of departure approach it with baby steps when going to the airport like climbing up a flight of steps. Make no promises to your travel companion. Just try to go to the ticket counter, & if you feel ok, go a step forward like through security & then the boarding gate. Each step should be a sense of accomplishment. Overcoming fear of flying is a gradual process.
