Blacklist

Ever since the most recent accident from an Airbus-310 off the coast of Yemen, there has been some talk of a European blacklist of certain air carrier. This idea seem like a noble one ,but it would not have prevented the recent accidents around the world. At best, it would serve as an incentive for carriers to place more attention on safety. For example, it's been known for a while in aviation circles that certain regional carriers were not up to par in safety compared to others. Most notably Colgan Air, Pinnacle, & Gulf Stream. Some of these carriers had either several accidents, or incidents in the past couple of years. Gulf Stream for years had a system where anyone could buy a job with them instead of earning it with merit, or skill. But in fairness, most of the other regional carriers have a solid good reputation. It's also been known for years that many airlines in Africa are unsafe. Russian federation also have many problems with their airlines as well as the Baltic states. In my opinion I think every airline should exceed the minimum standards required by regulations then we might be able to archive a remarkable safety record around the world.
