The FAA, & some aircraft manufactures are in the process of coming out with a new standard when it come to aircraft seating. They will make some seats stronger. This will benefit people in case an aircraft goes off the runway. This situation was raise after a Continental Airlines flight went off the runway in Denver last year. There were a few minor injuries. Some people had a hard time getting out after some seats buckle in. Also, the FAA are considering raising the standards to add airbags to seats. This will not deploy if turbulence is encountered.
