Southwest airplane struck by lightning

Passengers abroad a Southwest airlines flight got more then they bargain for on a flight from Dallas to Lubbock, Texas. Flight 48 was struck by lightning. There was bad weather along the area that day. The flight made a precautionary landing in Amarillo, Texas. One passenger Mr chesnutt said" We could see lightning all around, and there was a pretty big flash inside the plane,” Chesnutt said, adding that the cabin lights may have flickered. “It was almost like a split second … not sure if the flash caused your eyes to be like “ ‘whoa, something happened.’ ” After the airplane landed safely, it was inspected by maintenance & declared airworthy. This goes back to what I said on earlier articles that occasionally airplanes hit lightning, but in most cases these is either no damage or some minor damage. There are of course some rare exceptions.
