Update on Turkish accident

Apparently air investigators are prepared to come out with a final ruling today on the Turkish Airline Accident that happened last month. The aircraft was a B-737-800 that took off from Istanbul, Turkey to Amsterdam when it crashed 2 miles short of the runway. Investigators believe an error in the altimeter caused the accident. An altimeter is a cockpit instrument that measures outside air pressure & translates it into altitude in feet, or meters for the pilots. This is a critical instrument that must be reset prior to takeoff, & landings to avoid obstacles. What is not mention as of yet is why the instrument failed. Was it a mechanical error or human pilot error. Most cases, its points to pilot error, but we will soon see.
