Many people who have a fear of flying site the number one reason for their fear, or anxiety is a lack of control. These people don't realize that they give up control in everyday life to other people. So their fear must be deeper then what they believe. I believe you could keep your fear in check as long as you learn to control your emotions with relaxation techniques, learn to anticipate, & learn to the basics of why airplanes fly? Learning to relax can help you control your breathing, & interrupt negative thought process. Learning to anticipate can help you relieve anxiety by controlling fear of the unexpected. This involves learning the routines of flight. You could also learn this by playing around with a Microsoft flight simulator game. These games have fun tutorials that will teach you basic airplane operation. Some of these games are so realistic on how they mimic the actual airplane that some companies used them to train pilots on some basic aircraft systems.
