Banner Year For Airline Safety
As this year comes to a close, I think we should all take note that this has been a good year for airline safety. As I write this, the NTSB is investigating an accident yesterday at Denver airport involving a B-737 that veered off the runway as it attempted to takeoff. Out of 112 passengers, there were no fatalities, but 36 injuries. Firefighters who arrived at the scene said it was surreal,& couldn't believe everyone made it out safely. This underscores the importance why its so important to listen & follow directions to flight attendants safety briefing. It doesn't matter how many time you heard it all before. This safety briefing mentally prepares you for what it's. This was the only U.S. air carrier accident this year. I think its been an amazing year. Airline accidents have decrease steadily down 65% since 1996.
